A regular monthly meeting of the Town of New Hope Board of Aldermen/Town Council was held on Tues., September 26, 2006 in the New Hope Town Hall. It was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Johnny Hamm. Also present were Ald. Pat Monson, Jeff Herbst, Barbara Stevenson, Bill Sommers and Roger Wilson; Atty. John Rapier, three other residents and the town secretary.

Consent items: The Treasurer's Fourth Quarter (Sept.) 2005-2006 report was approved by general consent.

Item 1. Re-appoint or appoint Planning & Zoning Commission members: Paul Freuh was reappointed upon a motion by Hamm, a second by Herbst and a unanimous carry. There are no term limits for Roads & Parks Committee.

Item 2. Administer Statements of Officer and Oaths of Office to commission appointees: This item was tabled.

Item 3. Review specifications and bid forms received for 2006-2007 street repairs, and consider awarding a contract for such repairs: Atty. Rapier reported that only R&R Asphalt & Paving had submitted a bid. Hamm moved to accept this bid, Herbst seconded, and the motion was carried unanimously.

Item 4. Discuss and take appropriate action on any possible violation/s of the Junked Vehicle ordinance: Herbst and Pat Monson had identified 68 junked vehicles in New Hope. The procedure to follow, in preparation for a municipal court session, was discussed.

Item 5. Discuss and take appropriate action relating to any proposal from the Roads & Parks Committee; Jeff Herbst reported on the holes in the Oak Creek bridge and at the intersection of Rock crest and FM 1827.

Item 6. Discuss and take appropriate action relating to any proposal from the Planning & Zoning Commission: No proposals were presented.

Item 7. Announce tentative meeting dates: Hamm announced meeting dates of Oct. 24 for Roads & Parks Committee, Oct. 26 for Planning & Zoning Commission, and Oct. 31 for Town Council: The Town Council meeting was changed to Oct. 26 following the P&Z Comm. Meeting.

Consent items: There were no further reports.

Citizen comments: Jack Shain reported a need for tree removal and a solution to the problem on Rockcrest at its east turn near the town hall.
