A regular monthly meeting of the Town of New Hope Board of Aldermen/Town Council was held on Tues., October 28, 2008, in the New Hope Town Hall. It was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Johnny Hamm. Also present were Ald. Bill Sommers, Ald. Jeff Herbst, Ald. Gene Fowler, Atty. John Rapier, and Town Secretary Barbara Stevenson. Absent was Ald. Bob Parmelee. Four citizens were present.

Consent items:
Minutes of the September 2008 Town Council meeting minutes were approved by general consent with exception of attendee correction. The Treasurer's report was given by Secr. Barbara Stevenson for October and was approved by general consent, though there were requests for different format presentation.

Item 1. Public Works. Ald. Gene Fowler gave an updated report concerning the Estimated Funding and Expenses for the Town Park. There was general discussion and questions concerning fund allocation and increased costs of items and items which can be completed during fiscal year 2008-2009.

Roads. There are some roads that need grading and there are trees that need trimming due to overhang over the road. Ald. Jeff Herbst will determine and manage the necessary road maintenance.

Item 2. Suggestion was made by Ald. Gene Fowler to revisit current zoning along FM 1827. Item tabled.

Item 3. Announced tentative meeting dates: Roads & Parks is November 18, 2008, P&Z meeting is November 20, 2008, and Town Council Meeting is November 25, 2008.
