A regular monthly meeting of the Town of New Hope Board of Aldermen/Town Council was held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, in the New Hope Town Hall. It was called to order at 7:32 p.m. by Mayor Johnny Hamm. Also present were Atty. John Rapier, Ald. Bob Parmelee, Ald. Gene Fowler, and Ald. Tony Lane. Ald. Jeff Herbst was absent.
There were 6 citizens present.
Consent items:
Minutes of the April 2011 Town Council meeting minutes were presented. Motion made by Ald. Bob Parmelee to accept and Ald. Gene Fowler made a second. Minutes were approved.
The Treasurer's report was given by Ald. Bob Parmelee for May 2011. Motion made by Ald. Gene Fowler to accept and a second was made by Mayor Johnny Hamm.
Item 1. Ald. Pat Monson made a motion to accept the election returns as reflected in Resolution 2011-004. Mayor Johnny Hamm made a second and motion carried.
Item 2. Names were drawn for reestablish staggered terms pursuant to Chapter 23 of the Texas Local Government Code for three 2-year-terms and one 1-year term. The results of the names drawn are:
Jeff Herbst, 2 years
Johnny Petway, 2 years
Pat Monson, 2 years
Tony Lane, 1 year
Item 3. Mayor Johnny Hamm reported on some lighting options for the Town Park.

Item 4. Oaths of Office were given by Atty. Rapier to Ald. Tony Lane, Ald. Pat Monson, and new elected Alderman Johnny Petway. Oath will be given to Jeff Herbst at June 28, Town Council Meeting.
Future meeting dates were read.
