M I N U T E S
A regular monthly meeting of the Town of New Hope Board of Aldermen/Town Council was held on Tuesday, May 20, 2009, in the New Hope Town Hall. It was called to order at 7:32 p.m. by Mayor Johnny Hamm. Also present were Ald. Bill Sommers, Ald. Jeff Herbst, Ald. Bob Parmelee, Ald. Gene Fowler, Atty. John Rapier, and Secretary Barbara Stevenson. Absent were Ald. Pat Monson.
Consent items:
Minutes of the March 9, 2009, Town Council meeting minutes were approved by general consent. The Treasurer's report was given by Secr. Barbara Stevenson for April 2009 and approved by general consent.
Item 1. Town secretary read voting totals. Returns were accepted without objection.
Item 2. Resolution was made concerning ordnance accepting returns.
Gene Fowler made the motion, and Jeff Herbst seconded. Unanimous vote.
Gene and Jeff took Oaths of Office for alderman. Pat Monson will take oath at next Council Meeting.
Item 3. Milling asphalt was discussed. Buckboard will be worked on first since it is a dirt road and milling asphalt should eliminate the dust. Motion was made to move $5,000 difference from contingency fund to road improvements and repairs for total of $49,200. Motion approved, none opposed.
Future meeting dates were read.
Judy Parmelee presented dates and information concerning this year's National Night Out scheduled for October 6, 2009, 6 - 8 p.m.
Executive Session called. Session ended at 8:02.
