M I N U T E S

A regular monthly meeting of the Town of New Hope Board of Aldermen/Town Council was held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, in the New Hope Town Hall. It was called to order at 7:32 p.m. by Mayor Johnny Hamm. Also present were Ald. Bill Sommers, Ald. Bob Parmelee, Ald. Pat Monson, Ald. Jeff Herbst, Ald. Gene Fowler, Atty. John Rapier. Absent was Secretary Barbara Stevenson. Minutes taken by Judy Parmelee.

Consent items:
Minutes of the March 3, 2009, Town Council meeting minutes were approved by general consent. The Treasurer's report was given by Secr. Barbara Stevenson for December 2008 through February 2009 and was approved by general consent. Treasurer's reports were distributed and left for discussion at the next council meeting.

Item 1. Gene and Pat Fowler gave a report on the proposed purchase of park benches and tables.
The council voted and approved the purchase of 8 benches and 7 tables per the proposed list submitted. The tables will be anchored in the future when funds become available.

Jeff Herbst said that road proposals would not be provided until at least May with concentration on concrete roads.

Item 2. Resolution 2009-001 establishing early voting times was approved as written unanimously after discussion.

Item 3.
Resolution 2009-002 was approved as written unanimously after discussion.

Item 4. Resolution 2009-003 was approved as written unanimously after discussion.

Item 5. Ordinance No. 2009-001 regarding FEMA Flood Management was approved unanimously after discussion.

The general meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m. for an executive meeting.
The general meeting was re-convened at 8:35 p.m.

Citizen Input:
Jack Shane is getting a load of black dirt from Altoga for the park.

Two bids were received by Jack for gutters on the Town Hall building. Mayor Hamm has them.
Judy Parmelee advised the Council about the Collin County Sherriff's Department Citizens On Patrol. This is a Collin county vehicle which is manned by two trained citizens who patrol our area in high crime spots to alert the Sherriff of potential problems.
