A regular monthly meeting of the Town of New Hope Board of Aldermen/Town Council was held on Tues., March 27, 2007 in the New Hope Town Hall. It was called to order at 7:32 p.m. by Mayor Johnny Hamm. Also present were Ald. Pat Monson, Ald. Bill Sommers, and Mayor Pro Tem (MPT) Roger Wilson, and 11 other residents. Ald. Jeff Herbst and Atty. John Rapier were absent.


Consent items:
Minutes of the 30 January 2007, 27 February 2007, and a special called meeting held on 20 March 2007 Town Council meeting minutes were approved by general consent. The Treasurer's Report was given by Pat Monson for 27 March 2007 and was approved by general consent.
Discussion followed concerning Volunteer Form for Town Park, Additions and Changes.

Item 1. Pat Fowler was appointed as Public Commissioner for Public Works. Motion was made by Johnny Hamm and 2nd by Roger Wilson. Gene Fowler will be receiving bids for ground work for Town Park. Discussion followed concerning grading and time concerns. Discussion followed concerning handicap ramp placement and standards. Discussion followed concerning newsletter to announce volunteer projects as well as other Town Announcements.

Item 2. No new proposals from the Planning Zoning Commission.

Item 3. Junk Car Violation letters will be issued this month (68 letters). Discussion followed concerning car parts and sales business operating along 1827 in violation of Zoning Codes.

Item 4.
Jim Breedlove, Town Building Inspector, provided information concerning adoption of the 2006 Residential Building Code. Motion was made to adopt Residential Building Code 2006 by Johnny Hamm and 2nd by Bill Sommers.

Item 5. Tentative meeting dates: April 17 for Roads & Parks, 19 April for Planning and Zoning, and April 24 for Town Council.

Citizen comments: Citizen raised concerns about sales tax that should be collected by New Hope but was being distributed to other towns via cable companies. Mayer will follow up on this item. Citizen expressed concern for dog leash law. Ald. Pat Monson announced meeting for animal control representatives concerning consensus throughout county for a common leash law.
