A regular monthly meeting of the Town of New Hope Board of Aldermen/Town Council was held on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, in the New Hope Town Hall. It was called to order at 7:35 p.m. by Mayor Johnny Hamm. Also present were Ald. Bill Sommers, Ald. Bob Parmelee, Ald. Gene Fowler, Ald. Pat Monson, Atty. John Rapier, and Secretary Barbara Stevenson. Absent was Ald. Jeff Herbst.

Consent items:
Minutes for June 2009, Town Council meeting minutes were approved by general consent.
The Treasurer's report was given by Secr. Barbara Stevenson for July 2009 and approved by general consent.

Item 1. There was some discussion concerning trail connections with Trinity Trails and Collin County plans.
Annual bid for road work is approaching. A new Texas state law affecting road bids was presented by Atty Rapier. Bids should be received by 11:59 p.m. Sep 30, 2009.

Item 2. Park funds report given by Gene Fowler requesting receipts and documentation for matching funds.
Pat Fowler presented report on Town Park dedication and National Night Out on October 2, 2009 as a combined event including the police and fire departments as well as Congressman Ralph Hall. She also presented the vandalism report along with lighting and security needs.
New grant information was presented for the next phase of the Town Park development.
Motion was made directing the Public Works committee to meet with the appropriate people to get the cost and requirements to place lighting in the Park. Gene Fowler made the motion and Pat Monson seconded.

Item 3. Future meeting dates were read.
