A regular monthly meeting of the Town of New Hope Board of Aldermen/Town Council was held on Tues., January 2007 in the New Hope Town Hall. It was called to order at 7:32 p.m. by Mayor Johnny Hamm. Also present were Ald. Pat Monson, Ald. Jeff Herbst, Ald. Barbara Stevenson, Ald. Bill Sommers and Mayor Pro Tem (MPT) Roger Wilson; Atty. John Rapier, and five other residents.

Consent items:
The Treasurer's Report was given by Pat Monson for 29 January 2007 and was approved by general consent. Of note, Collin County began billing New Hope for animal control.
The Budget Report - Collin County has implemented a new reporting system showing the total amount of tax receipts without detailed breakdown of taxes, fines, or penalties.
Our Town Hall needs to rewire the building and replace the heating unit.
Town Hall has implemented a new phone service in order to maintain a message line and a fax line.
New Hope is awaiting reimbursement for county park funds.

Item 1. Discuss and take appropriate action on resignation of Town Secretary including plans for a replacement.
Duke Monson was appointed acting Town Secretary and will coordinate priority documents and other duties as required until a new secretary is trained.

Item 2. Discuss and take appropriate action on any proposal from the Public Works Commission, including expenditures necessary for road/street repair/maintenance, and park development.
Jeff Herbst delivered report concerning final plans for New Hope Town Park. We are awaiting funds from Collin County. We have received the final plans. Our Town Hall entry ramp is not in compliance with handicap requirements and needs to be restructured. Members of the Public Works committee have been actively searching for appropriate trees and other plants for the Park.
Roads - Rick Richards will be trimming trees and shrubs along roadways.

Item 3. Discuss and take appropriate action on the Residential Building Code, and on any other proposal from the Building Inspection office.
Barbara Stevenson reported that the Town Inspector, Jim Breedlove, is requesting that the Town adopt the newest building code for residential building. The council requested that Mr. Breedlove attend the February 2007 Council meeting to discuss the issue.

Item 4. Discuss and take any necessary and appropriate action on the current Junked Vehicle project.
The process for informing residents and providing information concerning this new ordnance is in place.

Item 5. Announce tentative meeting dates: Feb 20th for Public Works, Feb 22nd for P&Z, and Feb 27th for Town Council.
