M I N U T E S
A regular monthly meeting of the Town of New Hope Board of Aldermen/Town Council was held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, in the New Hope Town Hall. It was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Johnny Hamm. Also present were Ald. Jeff Herbst, Ald. Bob Parmelee, Ald. Bill Sommers, Ald. Gene Fowler, Atty. John Rapier, Ald. Pat Monson, and Secretary Barbara Stevenson.
Consent items:
Minutes of the January 2010 Town Council meeting minutes were approved by general consent.
The Treasurer's report was given by Secr. Barbara Stevenson for February 2010 and approved by general consent.
Item 1. Ald. Jeff Herbst gave a report on road maintenance. Rick Richardson began tree trimming and brush cutting along roads. Several signs also need maintenance.
Gene Fowler gave a report on the Public Works, The New Hope Town Park. There was no meeting of the Public Works Committee in February. Discussion followed concerning trails meeting up with the Park. There was also discussion concerning quotes and placement of benches in the Park. This work is planned to be completed this spring 2010.
Item 2. Joe Jaynes from Collin County presented the Town of New Hope with a large graphic presentation of a check for matching grant funds for the Park.
Item 3. Mayor Johnny Hamm read Notice 2010-001 concerning upcoming Election. Jeff Herbst made a motion to accept the resolution and all approved by consent.
Item 4. Mr. Wendlend presented resolution on TCEQ Water Requirement Regulation for exemption to the State of Texas. Resolution authorized Mr. Rapier to present the exemption to the State of Texas. Gene Fowler moved for approval and Bob Parmelee was second.
Item 5. Announced tentative meeting dates: Roads & Parks is March 23, 2010, P&Z meeting is March 25, 2010, and Town Council Meeting is March 30, 2010.
