A regular monthly meeting of the Town of New Hope Board of Aldermen/Town Council was held on Tues., August 26th, 2008, in the New Hope Town Hall. It was called to order at 7:31 p.m. by Mayor Johnny Hamm. Also present were Ald. Bill Sommers, Ald. Bob Parmelee, Ald. Jeff Herbst, Ald. Gene Fowler, Atty. John Rapier, and Town Secretary Barbara Stevenson. Absent was Ald. Pat Monson. Four citizens were present.

Consent items:
Minutes of the July 2008 Town Council meeting minutes were approved by general consent. The Treasurer's report was given by Secr. Barbara Stevenson for August and was approved by general consent.

Item 1. Public Works. Ald. Gene Fowler gave an update on Park Works. The shelter and playground will be on order this week. It should take about 8-10 weeks to install, and may be in place for the National Night Out Ice Cream Social scheduled for October 7, 2008.

The sprinkler system will be completed this month and will be under budget.

Additional dirt will be delivered this week to cover trees and fill in the beds.

Item 2. There was no additional discussion concerning Mayor Hamm's Proposed Fiscal Year budget.

Item 3. Public meeting concerning Mayor Hamm's proposed fiscal budget was scheduled for September 7, 2008, 7:30 p.m., Town Hall.

Item 4. Announced tentative meeting dates: Roads & Parks is September 23, 2008, P&Z meeting is September 25, 2008, and Town Council Meeting is September 30, 2008.

Citizen comments:
One citizen had questions about zoning in various areas of New Hope.
